Article 34 of the Mexican Federal Labor Law

In agreements entered into between unions and employers that may affect workers’ rights, the following rules shall be observed:

They shall govern only for the future; therefore, they may not affect benefits already accrued;

They may not refer to individually determined workers; and

In the case of reduction of work, the readjustment shall be made in accordance with the provisions of Article 437.
